John Cena, who juggles being a professional wrestler and actor, collaborated with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) in mid-August this year to release a series of NFT (Non-fungible Token) collectibles. However, data shows that only 7.4% of fans purchased them last month.

During a comic book event in Florida last Sunday, Cena took the stage to share his thoughts on NFTs, stating, "We made a huge mistake by bundling NFTs with physical items like clothing, belts, towels, and autographed photos." WWE released a total of 500 units of a gold combo pack NFT, priced at $1,000 each, but only a small portion were sold.

Cena and WWE jointly issued two different types of NFTs.

The first type mentioned above is the gold combo pack with a total issuance of 500 units.

The second type is the "John Cena Platinum NFT" that was auctioned off for 24 hours. Reports claim that the platinum NFT sold for $21,000 and includes VIP tickets to WWE events in Dallas or Los Angeles over the next two years, along with accommodations.

Cena expressed, "I have many ideas for the future, and this one failed. The people at WWE and I thought $1,000 was a reasonable price, but we were wrong, clearly wrong.

He specifically mentioned, "Only 37 units were sold, this mistake was a disaster!"

Even before the NFT craze, Cena had been promoting the crypto world on social media. Back in 2017, before the bull market when Bitcoin was around $4,000, he posted a cryptocurrency photo on Twitter. Despite the market not responding well, Cena personally estimated that the NFTs issued by WWE should be worth around $500.
