When a bored ape meets Rolex! How much does a buddy brother know about watches?

Crypto celebrity Big Brother Huang Licheng recently showed off his brand-new Rolex watch on Twitter. However, unlike regular Rolex watches, this one has been redesigned with straps, back cover, and other parts featuring plenty of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) elements.

BAYC X ROLEX

The post about this collaboration on Twitter has sparked intense discussions. The combination of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Rolex is truly eye-catching, leading many Bored Ape owners to inquire about how to acquire a meticulously designed fashionable watch. Through Facebook, they were able to contact the art micro-sculpture studio that created this watch - Bright.Cut, to learn more about this watch.

Bright.Cut mentioned that this Bored Ape watch was a custom service specifically for BAYC, taking approximately two months to create. Due to the intricate craftsmanship and time involved, only 6 to 7 watches can be produced in a year, and with rising labor costs in recent years, the budget for a similar custom watch would start at around 600,000 to 700,000 TWD, possibly even reaching over a million in the future!

Based on the market value of BAYC watches on Twitter, which is around 500,000 TWD, adding the micro-sculpture costs, the total value is at least over 1.1 million TWD. Compared to the cheapest Bored Ape NFT priced at around 6 million TWD, this price doesn't seem particularly high.

Following this collaboration with BAYC, Bright.Cut expressed willingness to collaborate with top-ranking large NFT IPs in the future and incorporate more NFT elements into their designs. Even if they are not Bored Ape owners, they believe that anything is possible and look forward to playing with the Bored Ape's appearance in the metaverse!
