Starbucks launches Web3 project "Starbucks Odyssey"! Test platform goes live, opening for initial user experience.

Starbucks' long-planned Web3 project "Starbucks Odyssey," which opened for registration in September, finally allowed the first batch of members to participate in the experience yesterday. Apart from a variety of interactive activities awaiting users to experience, they can also receive NFTs upon completion to unlock exclusive experiential events.

Starbucks Web3 Project Starbucks Odyssey

According to previous reports, Starbucks' Starbucks Odyssey project is expected to integrate its long-standing successful loyalty rewards program with blockchain technology, allowing consumers to not only receive additional rewards when shopping, but also collect NFTs and unlock exclusive event experiences.

The waitlist webpage for this project was launched in September this year, inviting members who wanted to participate early to register by providing their email addresses. Yesterday, a group of members received test invitation letters for this project.

Note: Starting from January 2023, Starbucks will begin sending invitations to a wider range of waitlist members every month, but participation in this project requires a Starbucks Rewards account. After receiving the test invitation email, members will have three days to join.

Starbucks Odyssey Experience Showcase

According to a report by TechCrunch, users can participate in interactive activities called "Journeys" on the platform, which may include watching videos, taking quizzes, solving puzzles, and tasting new products. Upon completing these activities, users can accumulate points, and after reaching a certain number of points, they can receive NFTs as rewards.

However, in this project, NFTs are given a more friendly and memorable name - "Stamps." The initial stamps will be designed inspired by Starbucks' history.

These stamps not only have commemorative and collectible value but can also unlock special experience activities. When users have lower points, rewards may include virtual Espresso Martini making classes or participation in exclusive product and artist collaborations. With more points, users may be invited to special events at Starbucks' Reserve Roastery or even visit the Hacienda Alsacia coffee farm in Costa Rica.

In addition, the stamps will be integrated with the Starbucks App in the future, allowing members to customize their membership cards or print them on other products. Next year, the Odyssey Marketplace will be launched, allowing these stamps to be traded among different members.

Note: Points will not accumulate indefinitely; they will reset at the end of each year, but the stamps will remain.
