What is the answer to the TwelveFold Puzzle first question?
According to a report by The Bored Ape Gazette, the first question was solved by a Twitter user currently known as X, formerly known as JTobcat, who is a member of the puzzle design company Cyphage. On Twitter, he describes himself as a "creator and solver of puzzles," showcasing his confidence in puzzle-solving.
In the report, JTobcat explained his process of solving the puzzle, which will be detailed below:
Step One: Understanding the Clues
The first question of the TwelveFold Puzzle can be found in this document. At first glance, there are six images resembling TwelveFold NFTs, with a line of English text on the left:
"Having two together during hibernation can make the difference."
Although this sentence may seem cryptic, it holds the key to solving the puzzle, with the emphasis on "Having two together" and "Difference."
Step Two: Identifying Overlapping Images
JTobcat speculated that "Having two together" meant each image at the top is composed of two overlapping TwelveFold images. By following this logic, he discovered that the top-left image was a combination of TwelveFold #185 and #195.
After some searching, he identified that the 6 images in the question were composed of the following TwelveFold combinations:
- #185 and #195
- #63 and #72
- #39 and #46
- #184 and #203
- #136 and #137
- #181 and #204
Step Three: Subtracting the Numbers
After identifying all the combinations, the next step was to subtract the numbers in each pair. This was done because the clue's "Difference" actually referred to the numerical "difference," i.e., the result of subtracting two numbers.
After some simple math, a sequence was obtained: "10-9-7-19-1-23."
Step Four: Matching the Numbers
The final step was to compare the numbers obtained with the "a1z26" cipher table, revealing the word "JIGSAW," which is the answer to this question.
This completes the detailed process of solving the first question of the TwelveFold Puzzle, providing a thinking direction for those who wish to tackle the subsequent puzzles in the future.
It is currently speculated that the following questions will be related to the 300 TwelveFold NFTs, but the solving concept will likely differ to avoid repetition.
Additionally, it is recommended to prepare a Bitcoin wallet and deposit a small amount of Bitcoin in advance to ensure timely submission upon solving. Although JTobcat found the answer in just 10 minutes, he mentioned that the subsequent process took him nearly an hour to complete.
