Japan-exclusive! Rakuten NFT marketplace covers animation, sports, music; first wave of ULTRAMAN series sells out immediately

Rakuten Group launched an NFT marketplace in Japan on the 25th, where Rakuten users can directly purchase NFTs using their Rakuten account and credit card, and also earn and spend Rakuten points. All purchases made by buyers can be displayed on their dedicated page. The first wave of partners announced for the Rakuten NFT marketplace includes ULTRAMAN, Asahi TV, Nikkan Sports, J League, and Beams.

First wave introduces ULTRAMAN and horse racing peripheral card packs

The ULTRAMAN card packs are priced at 7800 Japanese Yen and 30000 Japanese Yen, with a total of 244 packs available.

The horse racing peripherals are a collaboration with Nikkan Sports and are priced at 990 Japanese Yen.

Currently, the platform is limited to Japan. Rakuten does not clearly specify which blockchain is used, but it has detailed regulations on product copyright restrictions and platform usage rules in their terms of use. In addition, LINE has launched an NFT market project in Japan, utilizing LINE's private chain to allow users to buy and sell NFTs, but they cannot be transferred out of the platform.
