According to Coinbase's website, Kate Rouch joined Coinbase after working at Facebook for over a decade. During this time, she held positions as Head of Applications, Public Affairs, and Global Brand and Product Marketing for applications such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Facebook. Coinbase mentioned that "Kate's experience is invaluable."

Kate Rouch's Facebook operating team has won numerous advertising awards, including two Silver Lions at the Cannes Film Festival, and has increased Facebook's active users from over 500 million to nearly 3 billion.
