Telegram's founder and CEO, Pavel Durov, announced on the 28th that they will collaborate with the Toncoin blockchain for ad revenue sharing, with the following key points:

• Telegram's ad platform is expected to launch in March.

• Ad revenue will be open to channel owners in nearly a hundred countries.

• 50% of the ad revenue from Telegram will be paid to channel owners in TON tokens.

However, Telegram also stated to TechCrunch that specific revenue sharing details are yet to be announced.

According to the official announcement from Telegram, the platform has over 700 million monthly active users globally, with a total of 1 trillion monthly channel views.

After the news, the TON token surged by nearly 40%, reaching over $2.92, before retracing to $2.65.
