Advantages and Development

The Chamber recently released a report on Canada's blockchain ecosystem in October, showcasing the industry's health, current advantages, and insights into the legal requirements in Canada.

The analytical data comes from over 150 participants in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry, as well as from the Canadian government and academia. This research was conducted by the Blockchain Research Institute (BRI) with the support of Accenture, a specialized business firm.

They carefully analyzed the blockchain ecosystem in Canada segmented by region and company size, concluding that the industry urgently needs government commitment to propel this highly innovative technology sector forward by providing legal clarity. Don Tapscott, Chairman of BRI, stated:

While the research indicates that Canada's blockchain industry is diverse and evolving, it also faces challenges in funding, access to business services, and an uncertain regulatory environment.

Chairman Tapscott further added:

Despite the report citing Canada's advantageous position as a global leader in the blockchain industry, the ecosystem still faces major challenges, including funding, lack of regulatory environment, insufficient public education, and minimal collaboration with banks and auditing services.

Blockchain Industry Salaries Rank Highest in Canada

According to the report, the average annual salary in Canada's blockchain industry exceeds 98,000 Canadian dollars, making blockchain professions one of the highest-paying occupations in Canada. The content indicates:

The existing innovative ecosystem in Canada supplies top talent and growth-prompting policies, leveraging these policies and strengths to establish a leading global blockchain hub domestically. Clearly, Canada's blockchain ecosystem offers tremendous opportunities for those interested in careers in this field.
