Introduction to "Turbo," the first AI-generated meme coin! With a market value exceeding 30 million USD, even Elon Musk is paying attention.
Digital artist Rhett Mankind initiated an experimental project at the end of April that followed the current trends in the crypto community. With the help of ChatGPT and only $69 in funding, the project aimed to create a meme coin that could rank among the top 300 in market capitalization. While this goal seemed challenging to achieve, the intriguing initiative garnered significant attention from the community. So, did it ultimately succeed?
I gave GPT-4 a budget of $69 and asked it to make the next great meme coin.
I will follow all instructions it gives me and document the process here.

The Birth of Turbo: How Did the Name and Trademark Come About?
During this experiment, Rhett gave ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, the task of creating a meme coin valued in the top 300 on CoinGecko with only $69 in funds.
Upon receiving the task, ChatGPT first suggested to Rhett to create a prototype for this meme coin, which involved giving it a name that would resonate with the crypto community and designing a trademark. As for what name to choose, ChatGPT provided the following suggestions.
You can see that the names suggested by ChatGPT all started with words implying hype and rapid growth, such as Fomo, Moon, and Rocket, and were paired with animals. It must be said that ChatGPT did capture the taste of the crypto community.
After a public poll on Twitter, this AI-generated meme coin was officially named TurboToad.
Next, to create a trademark using the AI drawing software MidJourney, Rhett sought feedback from the community and renamed TurboToad to Quantum Leap after receiving suggestions, combining elements of a mascot, futuristic style, TurboToad, and Quantum Leap to create the following design.
Finally, option B was chosen as the trademark after receiving high votes in the community feedback, officially becoming the trademark for TurboToad.
The Birth of Turbo: Creating Tokenomics and Whitepaper with the Help of Predecessors
After completing the initial tasks, the next step was to establish tokenomics and a whitepaper for TurboToad.
Regarding tokenomics, after providing meme coins like PEPE and WOJAK as templates, Rhett quickly completed this task with the help of ChatGPT. As for the whitepaper, Rhett simply gave a brief instruction to present it within one page, which ChatGPT easily accomplished.
However, the most challenging part that followed was writing and deploying smart contracts.
Due to budget constraints, Rhett couldn't hire engineers to write the smart contracts for token deployment. To address this issue, ChatGPT provided Rhett with some self-learning websites, and with his own efforts and community help, Rhett successfully completed the contract deployment and audit.
Up to this point, aside from the Gas fees for contract deployment, Rhett didn't spend a dime.
The Birth of Turbo: Facing Financial Difficulties for the First Time!
After three days of effort, the AI-created meme coin TurboToad finally went live.
However, shortly after creating a liquidity pool on Uniswap, the pool, with only $69, was drained by front-running bots, leading to an abrupt failure of the project.
Day 3 update… making a meme coin with GPT-4 & $69
Well deployment went well. Tried starting a liquidity pool on Uniswap with the $69 budget and immediately got bought up by a front-running bot so there was no more liquidity. First major point of failure. pic.twitter.com/yWYpFx1ldC

To regroup, Rhett sought advice from ChatGPT on how to relaunch without the budget, and upon receiving suggestions, Rhett decided to embrace the power of the community and initiate crowdfunding.
The Birth of Turbo: Crowdfunding and Embracing the Community!
During a one-day fundraising period, Rhett initiated a vote for the TurboToad token abbreviation with the community and set up the token's official website and Twitter account.
After a day, the TurboToad token abbreviation was named "TURBO," and Rhett received 4 ETH from 50 investors.
The second issuance was much smoother than the first, and the story of this AI-created meme coin gradually spread within the crypto community, driving the price of TURBO to rise with momentum.
As of the deadline, TURBO's market value was about $30 million, peaking at over $50 million at one point.
Although its current market value is around 2,600th place, still far from the top 300 target, achieving such scale in just a few days is considered a success story amid the meme coin frenzy this year.
Readers interested in the launch process of TURBO can watch the documentary video below by the author Rhett. The initial reason for creating a meme coin was to fulfill his daughter's wish to move closer to school. With the success of TURBO, Rhett's goal seems to have been achieved!
Turbo Gains Attention from Musk and Beeple
A few days after the release of TURBO, renowned digital artist Beeple created an image for TURBO, which attracted the attention of Musk today, causing a surge in value.
