OKEx resumes trading, reopens deposits and withdrawals at noon, announces willingness to compensate for related losses
OKX halted trading and restricted withdrawals on 12/18 due to cloud service provider issues, while Gate.io claimed delays due to operational node network maintenance. Both have since issued announcements regarding their restoration.

OKX: Deploying Multiple Cloud Service Providers
OKX announcement stated that the recent incident caused users to be unable to close trades or withdraw funds in real-time for several hours. Normal deposit and withdrawal operations are expected to resume by 12:00 p.m. on 12/19 Taiwan time, with trading already restored at 02:50 a.m.
If users incurred losses due to the inability to access OKX during this period, OKX mentioned that users can submit a ticket for evaluation and compensation for any losses.
Furthermore, OKX explained that the interruption occurred due to reliance on a single cloud service provider. The engineering team is currently deploying a multi-cloud strategy to ensure long-term stability in the future. More details on the multi-cloud deployment will be announced later.
"Slow" Recovery of Deposit and Withdrawal Functions
Gate.io also issued an announcement stating that deposit and withdrawal functions have been restored. However, based on discussions in the Gate.io and OKX Telegram groups, many users are still complaining, with some indicating that deposits have not been credited.
Gate.io emphasized in the group that deposit and withdrawal operations are "slowly recovering."
Alibaba Cloud: Abnormal Data Center Equipment
Alibaba Cloud's announcement indicated that the incident was caused by abnormal data center equipment in Hong Kong, which has since been repaired. The related cloud services are gradually being restored, and Alibaba Cloud will provide compensation in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
