Solana's mobile sales surge, becoming a popular airdrop tool? Comes with $BONK token value exceeding the phone's selling price.
Solana phone sales have surged nearly 10 times in the past few days, with the community attributing it to the valuable $BONK token currently being offered. Purchasers of the phone will receive over $1,000 worth of $BONK for free, exceeding the phone's price of $599. The token's price has reportedly skyrocketed by 750% in the past month.

Solana's Saga Phone Sales Soar
Solana co-founder Raj Gokal tweeted earlier today that sales of their blockchain phone, "Saga," have increased by over 10 times in the past 48 hours and are expected to be sold out within this year, possibly even in the next few days.
lol. just so everyone is aware, @solanamobile saga sales have >10x'd in the past 48 hours, and are now on track to sell out before the new year.https://t.co/SzKht4DTYL

Gokal also revealed that there are currently only 20,000 units of the phone in stock, which are rapidly decreasing. While there may be plans for additional production in the future, there are currently no plans to offer more devices.
Previously, the Solana Saga phone announced its development in June last year and was made available for purchase globally in May this year. However, with sales seemingly not meeting expectations, the phone was discounted from its original price of $1,000 to $599 in a flash sale in August.
As the first phone product directly connected to blockchain technology, the sales and adoption rate of the Saga phone have always been a focus of the crypto community.
Co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko mentioned last week that only 2,200 units of Saga had been sold. However, it seems that this number has already been significantly surpassed.

Attention Drawn to the Value of Randomly Included $BONK Tokens
Naturally, the sudden surge in phone sales has sparked speculation within the community, with many attributing the increase to the inclusion of up to 30 million $BONK tokens, worth nearly $1,100, that come with the phone. However, the Saga phone itself is priced at only $599.
Coindesk pointed out that Saga's Discord server saw a influx of new members on Thursday, claiming they had just purchased the phone and were hoping to receive the airdrop.
It is reported that $BONK is the largest native meme coin in the Solana ecosystem, and the official team plans to include it as a payment option in more related services.
Solana Foundation's Strategic Director Austin Federa also joked:
What really flips is not the phone sales but the value of the phone airdrop $BONK, which has now exceeded the purchase price of the phone itself.
Another co-founder of Solana Labs, Toly, responded to this stating that Saga may need to raise its price.
$SOL and $BONK Tokens Perform Impressively
TradingView data shows that $SOL is one of the best-performing cryptocurrencies this year, with a growth of over 500% so far; while $BONK has surged by 750% in the past 30 days, and an astonishing 15,800% in the last 3 months, reaching unprecedented price highs.
With such an exaggerated increase in $BONK, it is attributed to the general uptrend in the Solana ecosystem and meme coin sector over the past 2 months.
At the same time, the token is set to be listed on several exchanges in the coming days, including the renowned US exchange Coinbase, South Korea's top three exchange Coinone, Binance, and Crypto.com, among others.
