Investors include Intercontinental Exchange, Microsoft's venture fund M12, Goldfinch Partners, and Pantera Capital, among other well-known companies.
In an announcement, Bakkt's CEO Mike Blandina stated, "With the completion of the Series B funding and the recent acquisition of Bridge2 Solutions, Bakkt now has 350 employees and offers loyalty point redemption programs for 7 out of 10 top financial institutions."
Following Bill Gates' recent departure from the Microsoft board, Microsoft's venture fund M12 made its first public statement on cryptocurrency-related investments with Bakkt. Despite Bakkt's Bitcoin derivatives trading lagging behind CME in the past year, with new funding and business expansions, they may have a chance to excel in the upcoming year.
