According to a blog post published on September 5th, The Abyss has revealed a collaboration with the Waves platform to develop a blockchain-driven marketplace for tradable goods and in-game items. This marketplace will allow users to purchase items with Abyss Tokens and sell them to other users.

It is an open network and decentralized Web 3.0 application environment where The Abyss will be the first gaming platform to create a universal market for all tradable goods and in-game items offered by game developers using Waves blockchain technology. This means that regardless of which game you are supporting, you can sell it to other users on this platform and use Abyss Tokens to make purchases.

Furthermore, this collaboration will enable developers to integrate Abyss Token operations directly into Waves-based games. Game projects based on Waves blockchain will be able to utilize The Abyss distribution network. This implies that they will be distributed on this platform, providing more openness to a wider gaming audience.

Founder and CEO of Waves Platform, Sasha Ivanov, stated:

We recognize the immense potential of the $100 billion gaming industry as a primary use case for blockchain, perfectly aligning with current gaming mechanics and item trading. We firmly believe that the gaming industry will be a passionate adopter of blockchain technology, and our collaboration with Abyss will drive its widespread adoption.

In the spring of this year, The Abyss announced a partnership with Epic Games, allowing developers on the platform access to the Unreal Developer Network. A spokesperson from The Abyss stated:

The initiative aims to attract more game studios and games to The Abyss platform, as well as support Unreal Engine developers in adopting cryptocurrencies. Specifically, they will be able to accept ABYSS tokens in a legal and user-friendly manner for game and in-game purchases.
