StandWithAsians | Uniswap promotional NFT auction sells for 310 ETH

On the day Uniswap v3 was announced, the official Uniswap team released a fantastic teaser video. The creator of this video, pplpleasr, turned it into an NFT for auction, with the proceeds to be donated to the AAPI Stop AAPI Hate organization and other minority representation groups. In the end, the NFT was sold for a high price of 310 ETH.

Teaser video (with lots of Easter eggs!):

Pandemic, Atlanta Shootings, and Racism

In mid-March this year, three consecutive shootings occurred in Georgia, USA, where most of the victims were of Asian descent, causing fear within the Asian American community in the United States. The long-standing issue of racial discrimination in American society continues to be a focus of attention.

The organizations targeted for donations from pplpleasr and Uniswap are related to Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). For example, the "Stop AAPI Hate" organization was established to combat the increasing racial discrimination against the Asian community amidst the raging pandemic.

pplpleasr holding a charity auction for minority communities in the United States at this moment is significant. She expressed her hope to contribute to NFTs in a special way and supporting the Asian community seems to be the right approach, as seen in standing with the Asian community.

Uniswap Promotional NFT with Lots of Easter Eggs

This NFT is being auctioned on Foundation and is named after the constant product market maker algorithm used by Uniswap: "x * y = k", with only one copy available. According to pplpleasr's explanation, this video contains many intricate designs:

She explains that the liquidity curve in the video represents Uniswap's logarithmic bonding curve, following the unicorn symbol of Uniswap into the promised land of Ethereum.

The materials referenced in this video come from various well-known animations, such as:

Satoshi Kon's "Paprika"

Hayao Miyazaki's "Princess Mononoke"

Moreover, the color selection of curves in the video is based on the theme colors used by various cryptocurrencies; the changing colors of the curves in the video represent the new feature of Uniswap v3, which can alter LP price range settings.

Additionally, the starry sky shown at the end of the video is based on actual data from Uniswap liquidity pools, presenting relationships between various pools.

Who is pplpleasr?

pplpleasr is a digital artist based in Taiwan. According to an interview by Decrypt, due to visa restrictions, she couldn't take up a job at Apple, leading her to dive into the world of NFTs. However, her personal website still indicates she is in New York.

In her personal statement on her website, she has worked on digital visual designs for movies like "Batman v Superman," "Wonder Woman," and "Star Trek Beyond." She has also created visual content for DeFi projects such as Aave, SushiSwap, Yearn, and others.

Who is the Current Owner?

During the bidding process, CREAM co-founder Leo Cheng and Mr.Block blockchain enthusiast Chris participated in the bidding, but the final winner was PleasrDAO.

PleasrDAO is a collective fund consisting of 23 Ethereum addresses, initiated by PoolTogether co-founder Leighton Cusack.

This NFT auction is not only meaningful, but PleasrDAO's decentralized call to the community to raise funds and win the bid also demonstrates the powerful mission-oriented DAO with significant influence.
