Global ETF Craze! Yuanta

While the Bitcoin spot ETF in the United States continues to achieve remarkable performance, Taiwan has also seen a wave of enthusiasm for ETFs. The Yuanta Taiwan High Dividend ETF 00940, scheduled to be listed on April 1, has already raised over 170 billion New Taiwan Dollars in the first two days, with performance so strong that securities firms are struggling to keep up.

Bitcoin has reached $73,000, with the spot ETF recording the second-highest trading volume and holding 800,000 bitcoins.

Yuanta 00940 Sells Too Well, Facing Indigestion

According to the official website of Yuanta Securities, "Due to the high number of subscriptions for the Yuanta Taiwan High Dividend Value ETF 00940, in order to facilitate customers' subsequent inquiries and payment operations, the company has stopped accepting subscription requests. For those who wish to subscribe, please contact Yuanta Investment Trust or other distribution agencies. We apologize for any inconvenience caused."

Moreover, as reported by Yahoo, Yuanta Securities sent out text messages suggesting that the public should contact Yuanta Investment Trust instead of coming to the securities platform to subscribe to 00940, to avoid lengthy review periods that may extend beyond the fundraising period. Whether more brokerage firms will follow suit is a matter of great interest.

Yuanta 00940 Monthly Dividend, Targeting Stock Investors

Yuanta is the pioneer of ETFs in Taiwan. The well-known 0050, officially named "Yuanta FTSE TWSE Taiwan 50 ETF," has been listed for 20 years with assets totaling 313 billion NTD, making it the largest and longest-standing ETF in Taiwan. Another fund, 0056 Yuanta FTSE TWSE Taiwan High Dividend ETF, is the forerunner of high-dividend ETFs and is also a product of Yuanta.

The recently raised 00940 emphasizes value investing, high dividends, and monthly dividends. With an issue price of 10 NTD, one can buy a share for just 10,000 NTD, attracting the attention of a large number of small investors and retirees. The fund attracted 170 billion NTD in the first two days. Its holdings include Evergreen, MediaTek, UMC, Vanguard International, and TSMC, with 75% invested in the electronics industry.

Stock Investment Craze, High Dividends Preferred by Retirees

Due to Taiwan's high dividend yield characteristics, "stock investment" is a popular investment method. By continuously buying company stocks and holding them for the long term, individuals accumulate wealth. Retirees, in particular, rely on high-dividend products to generate passive income, allowing them to receive pocket money without selling stocks and even serving as a source of post-retirement living expenses.

ETFs like 0056 and 00940, which emphasize high dividends, tout lower fees compared to actively managed funds. 00940 has a management fee of 0.3% and a custody fee of 0.03%, with an automatic mechanism to weed out weaker stocks, making it a favorite among Taiwanese investors. However, investors should fully understand the product's characteristics and evaluate their risk tolerance to plan their personal finances.
