Nansen launches social messaging app Nansen Connect, integrating corresponding communities based on encrypted assets and on-chain behaviors.

The on-chain data analytics platform Nansen has launched a new application called Nansen Connect, which is a Web3 messaging app designed specifically for NFT and crypto communities.

Introduction to Nansen Connect

"What should a crypto-native messaging app look like?" In response to this question, the Nansen team has collaborated to create Nansen Connect, which allows users to easily log in using their crypto wallets. Once connected to the app, users can perform the following actions:

  1. Choose a username based on Nansen wallet labels
  2. Join different groups based on held cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and on-chain activities
  3. Send private messages to other users with end-to-end encryption and the ability to reject messages
  4. Monitor address data and user holdings
  5. Establish over-the-counter trading channels

As a powerful data analytics platform within the blockchain industry, Nansen has labeled behavior and assets on over 120 million addresses. This feature not only directly reflects blockchain data but also serves as an identity symbol for the wallet holder in the blockchain world. For example, looking at the wallet label of well-known NFT collector Pranksy, one can easily identify some of the assets held and past experiences on the chain.

Based on this foundation, Nansen is transitioning from a data platform to a social platform. Users can easily find and interact with others who share similar interests and experiences.

Differences from Discord

Currently, the most commonly used messaging and communication tool in crypto communities is Discord. However, over the past six months, issues such as scams and harassing messages have plagued Discord, affecting user experience and leading to asset losses. Nansen states that the key difference between themselves and Discord is that they are a Web3 application that requires wallet login, while Discord is open to everyone.

Furthermore, ownership restrictions help effectively reduce spam messages, and message transmission is securely end-to-end encrypted.

Currently in Testing Phase

Nansen Connect is currently in beta version and only available to subscribers of Nansen services and some top NFT holders, including:

  • Bored Ape Yacht Club
  • Azuki
  • Clone X
  • Doodles
  • Moonbirds
  • Pudgy Penguins
  • Sneaky Vampire Syndicate
  • Weirdo Ghost Gang
  • Kaiju Kingz
  • Cyberkongz
  • Hashmasks
  • Parallel Alpha

As the overall functionality improves, Nansen will gradually add more communities. Additionally, some NFT projects have confirmed the use of Nansen Connect as their official community platform, including Pudgy Penguins, Hashmasks, and CyberKongz, among others.
