Terra domain service Terra Name Service TNS announced the launch on the Terra mainnet. Users can choose a favorite domain name, with a minimum of three characters and no maximum limit! If you want people to find your wallet address more easily, or want to enhance visibility for a specific name, receive tips, etc., the domain service can provide greater convenience.

In addition to Ethereum, there are domain services available on emerging public chains. The TNS service has officially launched on the Terra mainnet, and the following are some application rules:

  1. When applying for a domain name, payment must be made in UST, the stablecoin on the Terra chain.
  2. Domain names must be 3 characters or more, with characters limited to numbers 0-9, lowercase letters, and hyphens (-).
  3. Some functional or special words cannot be used for domain name registration, for example: charity.ust.
  4. Domain name pricing will be determined by the length of the domain name.

Domain Name Pricing

  • For domain names with 5 characters or more, the annual price is 24 UST, and for the first 10,000 domain name applications, the price is only 16 UST.
  • For domain names with 4 characters, the annual price is 160 UST.
  • For domain names with 3 characters, the annual price is 640 UST.

Domain names with 3 or 4 characters are priced higher due to limited quantity, with only 49,284 and 1,823,508 combinations available, respectively.

Domain Name Registration Tutorial

1. To apply for a domain name, you first need the Terra Station wallet. You can install it from the Chrome Web Store.

2. After setting up the wallet, you can convert your wallet's LUNA to UST through Terra Station Web. Once on the website, click on the Swap option in the left sidebar.

3. In the Swap coins section, enter the amount of LUNA you want to convert and click NEXT. After a moment, your wallet will show the successful conversion to UST.

4. Enter the desired domain name on the TNS registration page. If it's available, you can proceed with the registration.

5. Choose the registration period and click Request to register.

6. Wait for 20 seconds as the system verifies that the domain name is available for registration.

7. Once you confirm the costs, including registration fees, gas fees, and transaction taxes, you can click Register now to complete the registration.

8. If the registration is successful, you will see the domain name on the screen.
