Unity game engine introduces "decentralized" development tools! Metamask: Bringing Web3 into games

The global cross-platform game engine giant Unity announced today that it has added a "Decentralization" category page to its Asset Store to help developers incorporate decentralized technologies into games. Several well-known companies such as ConsenSys, Immutable X, and Solana have partnered with Unity to provide relevant software development kits on the platform.

Unity Asset Store Offers "Decentralized" Development Tools

According to the Unity Asset Store page, developers will find 13 verified solutions to manage digital assets, set up smart contracts, and build blockchain networks.

Here is the list and brief descriptions, all of which are free to use:

  1. AIKON ORE ID: AIKON's ORE ID is a single sign-on platform that allows developers to create a blockchain account on first login.
  2. Algorand: The Algorand SDK provides developers with tools to integrate digital assets and primitives into games when using the Algorand blockchain.
  3. Altura: Altura's API and SDK allow developers to create, update, and transfer NFTs in games.
  4. Aptos Labs: Aptos Labs has created an SDK for game developers to develop on Aptos.
  5. Dapper Labs: Unity's Flow SDK enables Unity developers to integrate their games and applications with the Flow blockchain.
  6. Immutable X: The Immutable X developer platform can be used to develop and scale Web3 games on Ethereum.
  7. Infura ConsenSys: Infura's infrastructure and toolkits help developers develop and connect to any EVM compatible blockchain.
  8. Metamask ConsenSys: The SDK provided by Metamask is a library that developers can install in their projects to help users connect to the MetaMask wallet client for any game developed on Unity.
  9. Nefta: The Nefta SDK allows developers to seamlessly integrate digital assets, multi-chain wallets, tokens, and customized markets.
  10. Pocketful of Quarters - The Quarters SDK is a plug-and-play monetization tool for developers to focus on creating social and interoperable games.
  11. Solana: The Solana SDK allows game developers to integrate Solana-based NFTs, tokens, and on-chain programs into their Unity games.
  12. Tezos - The Tezos SDK features cross-game player account connections, in-game item minting and trading, and more.
  13. Truffle ConsenSys - Truffle is a comprehensive Ethereum smart contract development framework.
