As of early 3/7, the probability of the proposal passing seems very high. Vote results

Rapid Review of UNI Profit Sharing Proposal

Two new contracts, V3FactoryOwner.sol94 and UniStaker.sol98, will be launched:

  • V3FactoryOwner.sol can collect protocol fees without permission and includes a mechanism to convert these fees into a universal ERC20, distributed to UNI stakers
  • UniStaker.sol is responsible for managing delegation and fee distribution

The current expected payment method is WETH, but it is not finalized; the proposal states,

What are the internal and external concerns of the UNI profit-sharing proposal? Is the Uniswap proposal intended to challenge SEC regulations?

What are the issues?

  • Original liquidity providers LP oppose because stakers do not provide liquidity assistance but still share profits
  • If the UNI token introduced by the U.S. company Uniswap Labs has profit-sharing functions, it might be considered a security
