Vision and Goals of ZK Token
Decentralized Governance Model
ZKsync states that to ensure ZKsync remains trustless and censorship-resistant, the protocol must be governed by a diverse and passionate community. Transferring significant power to actively involved community members is key to establishing decentralized governance.
Functions and Applications of ZK Token
Protocol Upgrades and Network Fees
ZK Token allows holders to introduce and vote on protocol upgrades and pay network fees through ZKsync's native account abstraction. Through governance-driven protocol upgrades, the community can further develop ZK, introducing staking and other functionalities.
Coordination Tool for Technological Innovations
With the launch of more ZK chains, ZK Token will become a crucial tool for coordinating technological innovations, with upcoming releases like Lens Network, Cronos zkEVM, GRVT, among others.
Community Allocation Plan for ZK
Two-thirds of ZK Token, approximately 67%, will be allocated to the community. 17.5% of the total supply will be distributed through a one-time airdrop, with the remainder allocated through ecosystem programs managed by the ZKsync Foundation and ZK Nation governance process to support onboarding of new users.
Airdrop Program: MOAD
17.5% of the airdrop will be distributed to 695,232 wallets, marking the largest user token distribution in a major rollup. These tokens are fully liquid from day one with no lock-up period. The ZKsync airdrop is focused on real users, revealing holders' behavioral patterns through on-chain wallet history.

Conditions and Distribution of ZK Airdrop
Eligibility of Participants
There are two ways to qualify for the 17.5% airdrop:
1. Users (89%): Users who transact on ZKsync and meet the activity threshold.
2. Contributors (11%): Individuals, developers, researchers, communities, and companies contributing to the ZKsync ecosystem and protocol through development, promotion, or education.
How ZK is Distributed
Each address must meet a minimum point threshold, and the distribution is based on assets held on the ZKsync Era, with the duration of assets in wallets and DeFi also impacting the final allocation.
Understanding the Airdrop Model of ZKsync
User Behavior Accumulator
Each address can earn a multiplier based on its activities, including owning ZKsync native NFTs, holding ZKsync native ERC20 tokens, using smart contract wallets, among others.
Smart Sybil Detection
At the end of the distribution process, each wallet undergoes additional Sybil detection to eliminate most obvious bots.
Allocation of ZK for Contributors
A small portion, 11%, of the airdrop is allocated to individuals, developers, researchers, communities, and companies contributing to the ZKsync ecosystem and protocol through development, promotion, or education.
Project Treasury Support
These allocations include the treasury of ZKsync native projects, such as DeFi protocols, ZK chains, NFT collections, decentralized markets, infrastructure, games, and more.
