Airdrop | MEV-resistant trading platform CowSwap introduces decentralized autonomous organization, issues governance token "COW".

Gnosis Protocol announced on 1/28 the launch of a decentralized autonomous organization, issuing the governance token COW based on CoWDAO and CowSwap. Holders of Gnosis GNO tokens and early users of CowSwap are eligible for the airdrop.

Token Distribution

According to the approved GIP-13 proposal, the initial token supply is fixed, but a DAO can initiate inflation mechanisms in the future to ensure adequate incentive structures and the ability to revert to deflation, i.e., protocol revenue exceeds the issuance amount and repurchases and burns COW tokens. The token allocation is as follows:

• Total COW supply: 1 billion COW.
• 0.6% Advisors: Individuals who have made significant contributions but are not part of the development team.
• 10% Partners: Including VCs, market makers, etc.
• 10% Airdrop: Early adopters 5%; GNO token holders 5%.
• 10% Community Investors: Early community members who have made tangible contributions, with rewards similar to VCs.
• 10% Gnosis DAO: 5% linearly unlocked to Gnosis DAO; 5% locked GNO holders.
• 15% Development Team: 4-year linear vesting.
• 44.4% Cow DAO Treasury: Reserved for future ecosystem rewards.

Gnosis has been meticulous in token allocation and airdrops, stating that the Cow protocol aims to reduce costs but conducting an airdrop on the mainnet would cost users over $2 million in Gas fees, making the airdrop less rewarding for retail investors.

Therefore, Gnosis has ultimately decided that users with less than 100,000 COW can claim the airdrop on the Gnosis chain here, while users with more than 100,000 COW can claim it on the mainnet here. According to the official Twitter announcement, users with historical transaction values exceeding $1,000 will be eligible for the airdrop.
