SBF was arraigned yesterday, maintaining his innocence. His lawyer stated that he is only surviving on bread and water in detention.
Yesterday, FTX founder SBF was arraigned in a court in downtown Manhattan. He pleaded not guilty to the latest indictment. His lawyer also mentioned that the lack of internet access, proper food, and medication would impact SBF's ability to mount a proper defense against the array of charges.

Lawyer Claims Lack of Internet and Adequate Food and Medication
Lawyer Christian Everdell representing SBF reiterated his request at Tuesday's hearing for SBF to be allowed to use a laptop on weekdays for five days a week to prepare for the October trial, citing that SBF's rights are being violated. He mentioned that the case has a large volume of documents, but if SBF continues to be detained, it will be impossible to review them according to schedule.
However, Assistant U.S. Attorney Danielle Kudla pointed out that this issue has already been raised to Judge Lewis Kaplan, who denied the request.
SBF has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since August 11. Another lawyer for SBF, Mark Cohen, also expressed concerns. He mentioned that the detention center lacks vegetarian options, forcing SBF, who "sticks to his principles," to sustain himself on bread and water.
Cohen also stated that the prison has failed to provide Adderall, a medication used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, to SBF. The antidepressant drug EMSAM is also running low.
Both lawyers indicated that the lack of internet and adequate food and medication will impact SBF's ability to properly defend against the various charges.
Magistrate Judge Sarah Neburn stated that she will investigate these two issues after the hearing adjourns and hopes to address them on the same day.
The prosecution requested the court to order SBF's defense team to share more information about his proposed defense, including the content of the advice from his claimed lawyers. The judge set a deadline for Wednesday, requiring the defense to provide more information.
