The crypto-friendly state of Wyoming in the United States is currently hiring an Executive Director for its newly established Stablecoin Committee to oversee the work related to stablecoins. Compliance-focused exchange Coinbase has also started a large-scale recruitment drive and has reported receiving numerous applications.

Establishment of Stable Token Committee in Wyoming this Year

Wyoming established the first regulatory framework for crypto custodians in the US in 2019. Blockchain banks can operate in Wyoming with approval from the legislative body as Special Purpose Depository Institutions (SPDI), providing services using cryptocurrencies for businesses that cannot access FDIC-insured banking services.

According to the Stable Token Act released in March, the mission of the Stable Token Committee is to issue stable tokens that can be redeemed at any time for one US dollar. Wyoming will establish a dedicated stable token trust account held in trust and may not be used for any other purpose than stable tokens, with the funds in the account being specifically invested in US Treasury securities.

The Wyoming Stable Token Committee is composed of the Governor of Wyoming, State Auditor, Treasurer, and up to four additional experts in virtual currencies and financial technology.

According to their website, the committee is recruiting an Executive Director who will report directly to the committee, responsible for executing the committee's mission, providing administrative management, and representing the interests of the committee. Ideal candidates are expected to bring their existing connections and expertise in the blockchain industry and be familiar with Wyoming's legislative processes and key stakeholders.

The salary offered for this position is $150,000, approximately NT$4.7 million, but one peculiar requirement is the ability to "lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds, approximately 11 kilograms," which raises curiosity!

Coinbase Establishes VIP Website for Recruitment

The CEO of the US compliance exchange Coinbase, Brian Armstrong, recently announced that Coinbase will establish a dedicated website for recruitment, emphasizing that they are not limited by existing positions.

If we don't have an existing suitable position, Coinbase can work to find or create a matching job.

Armstrong mentioned that they have received information from nearly 300 applicants.
