Beware of Phishing Emails from FTX
Several FTX users have received fraudulent emails from a fake claims agency, Kroll, with the sender displayed as "Kroll Udates." The email subject claims that FTX has fully opened "asset withdrawal claims."
This is similar to previous tactics, but since the FTX bankruptcy proceedings have not yet concluded, withdrawal services would not be available. Users should beware of phishing emails and refrain from submitting any sensitive information such as account credentials.
FTX Claims Agency Kroll Incident
A similar incident occurred due to a recent cybersecurity breach at Kroll, which led to the exposure of non-sensitive customer data of certain claimants in the bankruptcy case.
FTX restructuring team previously emphasized that FTX account passwords are not stored by Kroll, and FTX's own systems were not affected. They assured FTX debtors that they promptly controlled and corrected the situation.
