As of the 15th, the Hong Kong police reported that 83 people have filed complaints involving approximately 34 million Hong Kong dollars, about 138 million New Taiwan dollars. The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong also stated that all statements made by JPEX, including the mechanism of increasing withdrawal fees, were solely controlled by JPEX and have never been in contact with the Securities and Futures Commission.

SFC: JPEX Never Contacted Us After Incident

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) responded to Hong Kong media "am730" stating that since the unregulated warning statement issued by the exchange "JPEX," they have never been in contact with the SFC.

All statements made by JPEX, including the mechanism to increase withdrawal fees, were solely directed by JPEX.

The SFC believes that JPEX may be involved in fraud and has referred the case to the police for investigation with their full cooperation.

83 People in Hong Kong Report Cases, JPEX Involved in Approximately NT$130 Million

According to Hong Kong media Ming Pao News, Commissioner of Police Siu Chak-yee stated that they have received the case referred by the SFC, which is now being followed up by the Commercial Crime Bureau. As of the afternoon of the 15th, 83 people have reported cases involving approximately HK$34 million, about NT$130.8 million. A hotline has been set up for public inquiries.

Chen Ling Jiu's Building Advertisements Removed

The advertisement posters of Chen Ling Jiu's "Blockchain Building" in Zhongxiao Fuxing, Taipei, were taken down on the evening of the 15th.

According to Crypto City report, a day after the JPEX incident, Chen Ling Jiu's agent posted a temporary update stating:

"Chen Ling Jiu and JPEX had already ended their cooperation at the end of July 2023, and relevant materials were notified to be removed as soon as possible during the buffer period."

According to reports, Lin Zuo, who publicly stated on social media that he had become a partner of JPEX, previously an insurance broker, posted that he "had no intention of violating SFC regulations" and stated that he will no longer publicly promote or mention any unlicensed trading platforms in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Star Julian Cheung: Realizes Post-Event Misuse of Image

JPEX's Hong Kong brand ambassador, singer Julian Cheung, stated through his agent to Hong Kong media:

Previously, JPEX claimed to have registered overseas and provided proof, so arrangements were made for a shoot in March of last year. However, after learning in May of last year that JPEX "was under SFC regulation," they notified JPEX that Julian Cheung's image should not be used until they obtained a license in Hong Kong. It was only after the incident that they noticed Julian Cheung's image had been used by JPEX, feeling helpless.
