The all-in-one blockchain data platform AICoin today accused the exchange MEXC Global of launching a fraudulent project named AICoin. What is the truth behind this accusation?

AICoin: False Project Launched on MEXC Global

According to an announcement by AICoin, it stated that the exchange MEXC Global has launched a false project under the name of AICoin, impacting the brand reputation of AICoin. In response, AICoin made the following 3 statements:

  1. AICoin has never issued any projects nor authorized any entity to release any project.

  2. Any project launched on the MEXC Global trading platform under the name of AICoin is unrelated to AICoin.

  3. AICoin will firmly defend its rights through legal means against any illegal acts that infringe upon its legitimate interests by misusing our name.

Following the announcement, the price of AICoin dropped by approximately 26%, but MEXC has not yet provided an official statement.

AICoin Listing Controversy: Perhaps Just a Project with the Same Name?

Within the content of AICoin's announcement, two pieces of information regarding the AICoin project listed on MEXC can be seen.

Upon investigating the related information, it was found that the full name of the project is "AICoin Gateway," which claims to be a blockchain-based AI data consulting platform that plans to launch a wallet and NFT marketplace in the future. However, these functionalities have not been rolled out yet, and it remains to be seen if it is simply a project riding the AI trend for hype.

There is no mention of any content or links related to AICoin on the Twitter account of AICoin Gateway, leaving open the possibility that it is merely a coincidence that the names are similar.

Furthermore, the AICoin Gateway's official website displays many partner trademarks, including several other centralized exchanges, but currently, only MEXC has officially listed its token AI for trading pairs.
