The e-commerce giant Amazon recently launched a "Generative AI Tool" to help sellers write compelling copies that even non-mathematical buyers can understand!

Not the First, Not All Rosy

A study by the technology research and advisory firm Gartner reveals that by 2025, 70% of businesses' top concern will be the sustainability and ethical use of AI tools, with 35% of them having a designated position responsible for AI, reporting the development status of AI tools to the CEO.

What we refer to as generative AI now is powered by Large Language Models (LLM) technology. Companies are beginning to train LLM models with massive amounts of data and information, which can be utilized in customer service, marketing, product development, and more.

For instance, with a trained LLM, readers could directly ask AI customer service about blockchain and cryptocurrency on a website in the future, without the need to search articles or keywords for information.

Amazon is not the only e-commerce giant embracing generative AI.

The other two e-commerce leaders, eBay and Shopify, have also introduced their own AI tools. eBay launched a feature similar to Amazon's last week, while Shopify's ChatGPT assistant can help sellers write marketing copy, answer various business decision questions, and even generate blog posts about products.

Although Amazon claims to be able to automatically generate copy, one of the concerns with generative AI models currently is the issue of "misinformation." If this AI tool ultimately generates misleading copy and product descriptions, Amazon may face legal consequences.
