Warpcast launches one-click USDC payment feature, allowing instant payment by clicking on the recipient.

The Web3 community platform Warpcast, highly praised by Vitalik, has launched a new feature for "fast payments with USDC," as co-founder Dan Romero stated, "Now you no longer need to struggle to find the recipient's wallet address when making a payment."

What is Warpcast? No Gas Fee, No Fake Accounts

Warpcast is a social platform built on the Farcaster protocol, currently operating on a subscription model: $5/year, which includes all on-chain transfers and interactions on the platform for the next year (currently only supports Base Wallet binding). Due to the subscription model, it can significantly reduce the issue of fake accounts, which is also a pain point for social platforms like Twitter.

Warpcast Payment New Feature: Pay with a Click, No Need to Copy Addresses

In the new feature of Warpcast, users do not need to search for the recipient's address or remember their ENS Ethereum domain name. They can simply click on the recipient's profile page and select "Pay" to initiate the payment, which will redirect them to the Base Wallet payment page.

Dan Romero stated that the new feature currently only supports mobile devices. The aim is to integrate the payment experience of Web3 wallets into the social platform, allowing users to easily make cryptocurrency payments through the mobile apps they use daily.

Criticism from the Bitcoin Camp: No KYC for Nostr

Supporters of the Web3 social platform Nostr based on the Bitcoin network have responded to Warpcast's new feature. Bitcoin advocate Alex Gladstein stated that Nostr does not require KYC or any information, offers fast final settlement, and is still Bitcoin-based. Payments can be instantly completed using the Lightning Network. Additionally, "Own your own content + money" means having full ownership of both content and money.

In response, Dan Romero mentioned that those laser-eyed individuals think that because we are cypherpunks, we don't need KYC, but in reality, Nostr still requires address and birthdate information.
