Access Protocol utilizes Actions and Blinks to enable one-click purchasing

The subscription service agreement Access Protocol leverages Solana Actions and Blinks technology to offer one-click purchasing of ACS subscriptions priced in SOL on The Block and CryptoSlate.

What are Solana Actions & Blinks?

Solana Actions is an API that sends signable transactions to programs specified by the protocol. Blinks, on the other hand, monitors the Solana Actions API and builds interfaces that simplify user experiences.

For Access Protocol, Solana Actions allow users to purchase ACS subscriptions with SOL, while Blinks facilitate transactions through mapped links deployed on publishing websites, and even on popular interfaces like Twitter.

Currently, CryptoSlate and The Block have launched subscription purchasing functionalities priced in SOL. These companies plan to integrate the checkout experience directly into their websites. Access Protocol plans to introduce Solana Actions and Blinks for an additional 20 creators next week and eventually expand this feature to all 160 creators on the platform.

How to Use the Blinks Functionality

The protocol maps transaction links to specific Solana Actions. Blinks technology unfolds these links in an easy-to-use interface through browser extensions. Wallet users like those on the Backpack exchange can directly benefit from the convenience brought by Blinks integration in their wallets, while other wallet users simply need to download the Blinks extension created by Dialect and choose the wallet where they wish to enable Blinks.

On the first day of release, over eight leading Solana teams were already utilizing Solana Actions and Blinks technology. With time, we can expect to see more complex applications of this technology to further simplify the user experience.
