Good news for community creators! The Broadcast Channel feature will be launched on Facebook and Messenger.

According to Meta Blog, the Broadcast Channels feature will be launched on Facebook and Messenger in the coming weeks. Facebook Page managers will be able to activate this feature, allowing them to share voice, text, photos, videos, and GIFs with anyone who joins their channel. Fans can provide feedback through reactions and polls, effectively bridging the gap between creators and fans.

Broadcast Channels Functionality to be Introduced on Facebook and Messenger

Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg announced today that the Broadcast Channels feature will be introduced on Facebook and Messenger in the coming weeks.

Earlier this year, Meta's social messaging platforms Instagram and WhatsApp had already introduced this feature.

As a way for pages and community creators to interact more deeply with their fans, page managers and community creators will be able to send one-to-many messages to their channel members through text, images, videos, and polls, allowing fans to express their opinions through voting and reacting with emojis.

For fans, upon opening a Broadcast Channel from a page they follow, they will receive a one-time notification asking if they want to join and will then receive notifications for each new message from the creator, as well as view and manage a list of all broadcast channels in the chat list.

Currently, pages that have opened Broadcast Channels on Facebook and Messenger include Netflix and League of Legends, among others.

Not All Fan Pages Can Use It

Similar to previous cases, not all fan pages can immediately use the Broadcast Channels feature, as Meta has stated that it is currently in testing. Therefore, only some Facebook page managers can directly launch Broadcast Channels from their main page. If a page is not on the early access list, they will have to wait for notification.

Prior to this, Instagram's Stickers Notes and multiple named links in profiles functions were initially available to only some users and gradually opened to the public.

Community Creators are Key to Social Media

The Broadcast Channels feature introduces a new way for online creators to interact with their audience, providing a closer and more real-time sharing of daily life events.

For creators, the ability to communicate one-to-many helps establish deeper connections, increase fan engagement, and loyalty. For fans, restrictions on who can speak can effectively block spam messages and malicious harassment, allowing them to focus more on the creator's content without interference.

When Meta introduced the paid subscription Meta Verified feature, similar to Twitter's X, they also emphasized their philosophy and stance on product updates:

We aim to make it easier for users, especially creators, to build influence. With the introduction of these features, users will be able to focus more on building their communities on Instagram or Facebook.
