Minerva University is a startup university without classrooms or a campus, which launched the online video teaching platform "Forum" five years ago, with more interactive features. Due to security concerns surrounding the popular video conference software Zoom, there has been much discussion and inquiry. Highly Interactive Video Teaching Platform: Forum

Taipei was the final city for Minerva University's graduates this year. During the online conference, President Tsai Ing-wen not only encouraged the graduates but also shared Taiwan's successful experience in combating COVID-19. During the conversation, graduates from 19 countries were able to clearly express their expressions and dialogue through video, and a group photo was taken online at the end.

After the news was released, many people on Facebook inquired about the software used, as it did not appear to be Zoom. Some students from Minerva University mentioned that their online interactive teaching platform is called "Forum," which offers more advanced features than Zoom and makes teaching more interactive and engaging.

Minerva University has been conducting real-time online courses through Forum for five years. Students and professors can engage in video teaching, use slides and whiteboards, collaborate on documents, and even conduct live voting and debates during the video session. Its powerful interactive features even allow you to see the enthusiasm of each participant's speech.

Since President Tsai Ing-wen's video with the graduates, many individuals with teaching needs have expressed interest in exploring the platform to see if it can provide more assistance for distance learning during the pandemic. In fact, Minerva University has already provided many solutions in response to the pandemic, including collaborating with various schools to offer customized online courses through Forum, which is believed to greatly enhance the teaching experience.

Minerva University's Venture into Blockchain

In 2018, a group of blockchain enthusiasts among the students at Minerva University successfully applied to the Tokyo-based startup incubator Hitomedia and collaborated with founder Masayasu Morita to develop a startup project for an NFT trading market - dbay.

Although dbay did not succeed in the NFT trading market, starting to build an NFT trading market in 2018 was considered cutting-edge. Co-founder of dbay, Abishek Dharshan, is still active in the blockchain industry and is currently involved in DeFi development. Perhaps we will see more presence from Minerva University in the blockchain industry.
