In the United States, the broadcast advertisements during the biggest sports event, the "Super Bowl," are highly sought after. Last year (2022), cryptocurrency companies took the spotlight, with FTX, Coinbase, Crypto.com, and eToro (which offers cryptocurrency index trading) spending millions of dollars (a 30-second Super Bowl ad costs between $6 million to $7 million) to invite celebrities to appear in their ads, including comedian Larry David and NBA superstar LeBron James.

Last year's Ad Spoof Comes True: Don't Trust FTX

FTX's Super Bowl ad last year featured comedian Larry David portraying a skeptical individual facing new inventions throughout history, including coffee, light bulbs, dishwashers, and moon landings. When introduced to "FTX," he responded:

"I don't think so. I never make mistakes about these things."
