Not Tesla! Canadian electric vehicle Daymak

From the moment a car drives off the lot, it begins to depreciate. However, Canadian light electric vehicle manufacturer Daymak has announced a groundbreaking initiative. Their upcoming electric vehicle, the Daymak Spiritus, set to launch in 2023, will be able to mine Bitcoin and Dogecoin while parked, adding value for the car owner.

Daymak

Canadian electric vehicle manufacturer Daymak launched a crowdfunding campaign for its Spiritus series of three-wheeled electric cars at the end of March, boasting acceleration from 0 to 100 in under two seconds and featuring the unique design of a three-wheeled vehicle.

According to an announcement by Daymak on 6/1, the Spiritus series has raised over $350 million in less than 60 days, offering not only mining capabilities but also a range of integrations with cryptocurrencies.

Accepting Crypto Payments, Wallet Integration

Daymak's integration of cryptocurrencies includes:

  • Accepting payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, ADA
  • Each Spiritus will become a node
  • Nebula Miner: Powered by solar or charging when parked, equipped with leading GPUs for mining
  • Nebula Wallet: Mining rewards can be stored or traded through the wallet, with related functions integrated into the onboard system
  • Partnerships with exchanges: Ability to lease cars with cryptocurrencies

Daymak CEO Aldo Baiocchi stated:

We've envisioned a future where everything from highway tolls to parking fees can be paid instantly with cryptocurrency, online bills, banking – all can be handled with some form of crypto payment software. While most cars sit depreciating in your garage, the Nebula Miner will make you money while your Spiritus electric car is idle, with limitless potential applications.

Crypto Community: Unbelievable

A tweet from the account Documenting Bitcoin, which records all Bitcoin-related information, stated:

This makes absolutely no sense, yet it's unbelievably true.

As Daymak has not released many details about the GPU specifications and cryptocurrency mining typically consumes significant electricity, the crypto community familiar with mining generally believes that this "innovation" may not be very profitable. Furthermore, the community is more eager for "Tesla to lead this new initiative."

The Spiritus is priced from $19,995 for the luxury version up to $149,000 for the top-of-the-line model, but the main differences lie in traditional performance metrics such as top speed and battery life, rather than enhanced mining capabilities.
