Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and board member of Twitter, announced in the early hours of July 1st that Twitter has implemented some temporary reading restrictions to combat extreme data scraping and system manipulation. This move has caused a stir among individuals in the cryptocurrency community who are accustomed to information overload.

Elon Musk Sets Daily Twitter Reading Limit

Elon Musk initially announced that Twitter has implemented some temporary restrictions to address extreme data scraping and system manipulation:

  1. Verified accounts can read up to 6,000 tweets per day
  2. Unverified accounts are limited to 600 tweets
  3. New unverified accounts are limited to 300 tweets

Currently, despite being a verified account, many have reported reaching the reading limit, but Musk later changed the policy.

Elon Musk's Latest Twitter Reading Limit: Minimum of 1,000 Tweets

After facing criticism on social media, Musk announced the following changes:

  1. Verified accounts can now read up to 10,000 tweets per day
  2. Unverified accounts are limited to 1,000 tweets
  3. New unverified accounts are limited to 500 tweets

Musk also tweeted ironically that due to reading many complaints about the reading limit, users are now hitting the reading limit.

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao CZ: Limiting Comment Counts is Sufficient

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao CZ mentioned that while viewing counts should not be restricted, post and comment counts should be. No one posts more than 800 times a day, except maybe himself. Shortly after, Zhao CZ suggested that limiting comment counts should suffice.
