NBA legendary player Michael Jordan is set to co-create a Web3 platform called HEIR with his son Jeffrey Jordan, designed for sports superstars and fans. The platform will be built on Solana and is scheduled for launch next year. It has already raised over $10 million in funding in the seed round.

Introduction to HEIR Platform

HEIR is designed as a Web3 community platform focused on athletes. Athletes certified on the platform will be able to sell "Seats" NFTs to their fans, granting them membership benefits. Fans who own this NFT will have the opportunity to purchase limited edition merchandise of their favorite athletes and receive exclusive NFT airdrops and fan videos. Additionally, athletes can interact with fans on the HEIR platform, with more active fans having a higher chance of receiving additional rewards.

However, not all fans will be eligible for membership benefits, i.e., the Seat NFT of their favorite athletes. The allocation of this NFT will be based on the athlete's social media following, approximately 0.5% to 1% of it. Once the NFTs are sold out, the only way to acquire them will be through purchasing from others who own the NFT on the platform. Transactions on the HEIR platform will be conducted using the Heir token, which will be issued on Solana.

"HEIR platform has reconstructed the experience between creators and fans, enabling athletes to interact with their fans," said Jeffrey Jordan.

Future Business Direction of HEIR

The HEIR platform is set to launch in 2022, with the initial athletes collaborating with the platform yet to be revealed, but it is known that it will mainly focus on basketball stars from the NBA, WNBA, and NCAA.

The platform's target audience will be the Generation Z and Millennials, who have grown up alongside the internet and see social platforms as an integral part of their lives.

"This is the first step for athletes to establish Meta-brands in the metaverse and Web3 world," said Jeron Smith, co-founder of HEIR.
