Splinterlands is an NFT trading card game built on the Hive blockchain, which has amassed 1.8 million users since its launch in 2018, with nearly 450,000 daily active users. According to DappRadar's January report, it boasts the highest number of independent users among all chain games, making it quite popular.
Following the partnership with Splinterlands, Warner Music Group will provide opportunities for its artists to create and develop arcade-style Play-to-Earn (P2E) chain games. The game is expected to be designed for mobile play to promote broader adoption and community development.
"I believe we cannot miss the massive opportunity of P2E games. Our collaboration with Splinterlands will focus on our artists and their music, as we co-develop and maintain tokenized games. As we continue to build, we will expand new revenue streams for our artists, while further solidifying fan engagement in value creation," said Oana Ruxandra, Warner Music Group's Chief Digital Officer.
